During the 2021 Nanxiang Xiaolongbao Culture Festival, the organisers launched an online knowledge contest, with questions on the history, people, culture and related content of the local food. In the question bank published by Shanghai Observer, one question asked for the name of the Nanxiang xiaolongbao IP image ambassador; the answer was Baotietie.
